There are many wonderful things about being a human being. Good friends and good food are just a couple things that come to mind. There are many more, of course. The good things in being human would probably make each person's list a little different. That, too, is a wonderful human trait: our individuality. I would imagine making a top ten "wonderful " list would be fun to do, and you could even do it over dinner with friends.

What makes these things so important to our lives? A good question and something we should ask ourselves from time-to-time. When it comes to friends, I suspect that life is easier to experience and more reassuring. Some friendships are long-lived and others are fleeting. But they all serve a purpose. When it comes to food, our daily life experiences both a sensuous high as well as a sense of comfort. Food is usually impulsive and momentary, which probably enhances the experience. But food is still delicious on a good day, whether it's pork bacon, turkey bacon or tofu bacon.

One of my "wonderful" list items is music. This includes classical music, jazz music, rock music and any other kind of music that has been put onto a musical disk. And I bet since you are reading these words, music is also on your wonderful list too. But why is music on anyone's list in the first place? What is it about music that is so important that you are probably considering bringing to life an old recording--and spending money to do so?
