In a word...a little.
My approach to training is to do as little as I can to get you as far along as possible. I get calls from people asking me if they will be proficient in this program or that after leaving my training. My answer is always the same...subdued laughter. There are no magic bullets in the computer learning biz.
Another way of putting it, A New Yorker is approached in the street near Carnegie Hall, and asked, "Pardon me sir, how do I get to Carnegie Hall?" He replies, "Practice, practice, practice."
So why then come to me if I can't get you from here to there? The truth is I can assist you on your journey, but only if you apply the advice found in the joke. I can help you with basic Mac techniques that will make you more efficient. I can get a newbie started in the most efficient way so your level of frustration is minimal (there will be moments of frustration). If you just bought an iPhone you don't have to struggle setting up the thing. I can come and show you the phone as well as iTunes, iCal and your address book so everything syncs easily. But you have to use the software to enjoy the computer.
