  Have any important, irreplaceable, gut-wrenchingly personal data on that one, constantly in use, aging hard drive? Love your iPod music? iPhotos? Let me make this easy for you to understand: if your hard drive or iPod dies it will cost hundreds or even thousands of dollars to recover the data. And the time lost, well, that's lost too. A small backup system will cost you $100 to $200 dollars. A backup system for a company is more, but so what. So backup your stuff. If you don't there will be no one to blame if you experience data loss. Well, there will be one person to blame.

  Now that all the guilt has been assigned, I might be able to come to the data rescue. As often as not, there is no easy way to tell the cause of a hard drive or iPod failure. It could be physical damage or possibly just file corruption. I recover files from corrupted hard drives and iPods. I can also repair these drives as well.

  I specialize in what I call "Level 1" data recovery. This is where the hard drive is physically sound, but file corruption is preventing the device from functioning. Level 2 is for physical damage, where men in smocks and a clean room come into play (remember the movie "E.T.")? You don't want to go there.

  Successful recovery of files may fit on one or more DVDs. Larger recovery jobs will require another hard drive device in which to place the recovered files. I can supply the drive for a fee or you can. Just know this is part of the process.

  I can recover data from misbehaving iPods. Also, I can transfer music to your iPod or iPhone. And, of course, this means that I can take music off a CD or a portable hard drive and transfer it to your mp3 device. Pretty trick really.

  It works like this. If you have an iPod or iPhone that is not working give me a call because there is a good chance that I can recover your music. I cannot repair damaged devices, nor can I recover data from every device. But the call is free.

  I have been asked more than a few times to transfer music from one device to another, or to transfer music from a CD. Or to backup a music library onto a DVD. Not everyone has a computer (this is true) and not everyone has the knowledge to do some of these things. So again just give me a call and we discuss your needs and how I can meet them.
